Dawn-Marie G. Wood

Professor Wood joined the BYU faculty in 2014 and contributed as an adjunct instructor in the Department of Psychology for six years before serving as a visiting assistant professor from 2020 to 2021. She entered the professional CFS-track in 2021, and she received continuing faculty status and was promoted to the rank of associate teaching professor in 2024.

Professor Wood has taught a variety of courses, most of them focused on scientific writing, gender studies, and behavioral neuroscience. She is a co-investigator in ongoing research studying the effects of mindfulness training among marginalized groups of BYU students and has also examined the effects of psychology of gender courses on religiosity, views of gender roles, and perspectives on sexuality in the campus community.

Professor Wood directs the Psychology Mentored Research Program and is the 2023-24 recipient of the FHSS Martin B. Hickman Innovation in Teaching Award. She currently contributes as a member of the FHSS Beacon of Light Committee and Communication Council, and she serves on the Psychology Department's Belonging & Diversity, Stewardship, and Undergraduate Curriculum Committees.
