Alexandra (Sasha) Lysova

I’m a Full Professor of Criminology at Simon Fraser University (SFU) in Vancouver, Canada. I study intimate partner violence, with a focus on men’s experiences, and received the Sterling Prize in Support of Controversy for this work. As a University Senator and co-founder of Academic Freedom at SFU, I’m passionate about protecting academic freedom—an issue especially meaningful to me given my academic roots in Russia and firsthand awareness of how fragile these freedoms can be.
